The Adaptive One Target offers a unique shooting experience for all shooters. Thanks to its innovative design, it requires the shooter to quickly identify targets and encourages them to shoot without following a set pattern. Each shooting session is a puzzle to be solved.

When a combination is announced, the shooter must quickly identify and shoot at the shapes or colours, while following the given order.

This method highlights imperfections in the shooter's movements and decision-making.

This exercise is not just a matter of accuracy. It calls on memory and quick analysis, forcing the shooter to break out of their routine, thereby strengthening their mastery of the shooting environment. The Adaptive One target is ideal for those who want to go beyond simple shooting practice and test their skills.

1. Target description
The Adaptive One target is designed to provide shooters with a dynamic and varied training experience. It features a 4x4 grid of geometric shapes and colours, as well as four separate boxes, each with an associated letter and number.

The idea behind this design is to break away from traditional target formats and create a target that tests not only the shooter's accuracy, but also their ability to quickly process information, remember instructions, and adapt their shooting based on the instructions received.

2. Preparation and installation
Before starting, it is crucial to ensure that the target is securely fixed at an appropriate distance. Depending on the exercise chosen, shooting can take place from 3 to 15 metres away. Safety must always be a priority when handling firearms.

3. Understanding the exercises
The grid is composed of different geometric shapes (circles, triangles, squares and crosses) and colours (red, green, blue and black). Each location on the grid has a unique combination of shape and colour.

In addition, there are four separate boxes located in the corners of the target. Each square is associated with a letter (A, B, C, D) and a number (1, 2, 3, 4).

4. Rules of the game
When a command is given, the shooter must quickly identify the corresponding locations on the target and shoot accordingly. For example, if the command is ‘Red’, the shooter must identify and shoot all red locations in the specified order.

Examples of commands:

  • Colour:
    • Combination: Red
    • Direction of processing: From left to right
    • Locations: 1, 14, 7, 12
  • Shape:
    • Combination: Round
    • Direction of processing: From top to bottom
    • Locations: 1, 7, 10, 16

Instructions may also include letters and numbers associated with the squares. If a letter or number is announced before or after a shape or colour, the shooter must adjust their shot accordingly, while still completing the combination.

5. Educational benefits and objectives
The main objective of the Adaptive One target is to improve shooting skills by emphasising recognition, memorisation, quick decision-making and cognitive flexibility. It also aims to strengthen other skills such as visual-motor coordination and divided attention.

The variability of the instructions and the need to adapt one's shot according to the instructions received take the shooter out of their comfort zone, breaking with routine and offering a more dynamic training experience.

6. Conclusion
The Adaptive One target is an advanced training tool that offers an innovative approach to shooting training. It is designed to provide shooters with a constant challenge, pushing them to continually improve their skills and adapt to ever-changing situations.
