The "Diagnostic One" target offers a unique experience for shooters, whether they are sportshooters, police officers or military personnel. Designed to help shooters become aware of their shooting deviations, it uses a simple but effective method.
By confronting them with failure, the shooter feels a slight frustration that pushes them to recognise their shooting tendencies.
These deviations can go in any direction: up, down, left, right or diagonally.
Preparation:
- Place the Diagnostic One Target at a starting distance of 3 metres.
- Identify the central square marked C-3 with a white circle and a thick black outline.
Step 1: Initial Shot
- Aim and shoot at the white circle in square C-3.
- If your shot hits the white circle, take one step back and repeat this step.
- If your shot misses the white circle, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Correcting Deviation
- Identify the direction of your shot's deviation (up, down, left, right).
- Depending on the deviation, aim at the black circle in the corresponding adjacent
- square:
Deviation to the right: Aim at square D-3.
Deviation to the left: Aim for square B-3.
Deviation to the top: Aim for square C-2.
Deviation to the bottom: Aim for square C-4.
Step 3: Repetition
- Continue shooting, evaluating the deviation, and adjusting your aim according to the instructions in step 2.
- If you go outside the grid, start again at the centre (square C-3) and continue the exercise to improve your accuracy.
Note:
The aim is to identify and correct any deviation trends in your shooting, and to improve by going outside the grid at increasingly greater distances.
